Despite his situation, Thorax did his best to adapt. He helped Ember and Blaze with the passenger work while the others worked on the goods trains. Thorax worked very well as he had a special tilting mechanism to help maintain his speed. The passengers had high praise for him with amenities, and that made the changeling engine happy.
