Carmen just can´t shut the hell up. Thats because she has the social skills of a dead gopher. But she has the unique talent of hitting the sore spot of a person. And she didn´t just hit Esthers sore spot here, she stabbed a red hot, salt encrusted knife into it and twisted it in the wound. See, Esther has a deep hidden grudge against Santa Claus. For millenia she works just as hard as he does, yet he gets to be in the limelight. That injustice gnaws really bad on her pride. So Carmens comment made her really furious. And when if a kind and gentle person like Esther gets furious, it gets ugly (Funny for us).
I really had fun with that page! The word balloons with Carmens "stabbing" comment and Esthers flowery agressive question on the last panel were a ton of fun. Also Carmens commentin the last panel with was a spontanious idea when I saw how Esters face turned out in that frame.
