Huffing at her mother, but relieved to not deal her nagging for another few hours at least, Jun darted an eye over at her still bandaged arm. The pain had stopped over a week ago, but she still hadn't worked up the courage to remove the gauze yet. She could still see the beast's glowing eyes in her nightmares, still feel it's hot breath on her skin.

Still she knew she'd need to confront this thing eventually, at least showing her the prominent scar should shut her mother up. Wincing as she pulled back the first layer of bandage, she was not prepared for what she saw next...
