Had to get Shugwar to help me with the pose, as I wanted something reasonably realistic that could be seen in a fight between dual knives and a sword of that size.

Protip: unless you're master level, it isn't. Never spar with live bladed weapons. Ever. One slip and you could die, easily. Always, always, always use blunt stand-ins, and even then, be ready to deal with some nasty welts and bruising.

You are absolutely correct. IRL, I would never use real weapons unless it actually was a fight to the death. I'm skilled, but not skilled enough to take that kind of gamble. Still, Justin and I love to play our games with fake weapons.

I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't be read in an English-Chinese dictionary. Those are JAPANESE characters :P

Well, kanji and traditional chinese characters are almost the same, save a few exceptions. Even their meanings are almost the same! XP
