Just a few attempt to design a cutie mark for my ponyself...Done in MSpaint (Noob art skill, GO!!! Yeah!)
As you are all aware of my full name -I hope- My cutie mark would be Drakstone. Actually Darkstones. So I steal...khm...got inspiration from Rarity's cutiemark, which is 3 diamonds. With that as a basic, I tried to do 3 darkstones, which are alike. It looks not so good with just done in simple MS Paint, but it's just trying, not the finished work. Nr 3 is the closest of what my pony would have on Her flank.
About Nr 1. and 2. ? D&D players and those who know me well can understand it fully! It's a stone with all the main evil, chromatic dragon's color plus pink as my buny's fur color. I don't mix my D&D with MLP:FiM (Not many would get the reference anyway), so 1. and 2. are just my mind wandering...

Yup...but my inspiration goes for Kyrandia. It's an adventure game made in 1992 by Westwood studios. It had a lot of Gemstones in it for a puzzle-mystery. I just thought I go with the diamond design. Dark Diamond that is. Kyrandia sure beats the chaos emerald design if it comes to what was first. So I would say: The chaos emeralds are looking like the gemstones in Kyrandia! Lol.
I was a sucker for Westwood games. My favorite is Dune 2 - Building of a Dynasty. It has the most epic battle song in Gaming History: Adrenalin Rush. It plays whenever the evil Harkonnens are making an attack. Truly a game of ambiance: Speakers to max! >XD
