"My dear, this is the one time that I must."
Basil as a British officer sent to Japan to help the Imperial Army's modernization, however he becomes fascinated with Japanese culture, sympathzies with the Samurai and falls in love with Anna (adpoted daughter of the Samurai leader). Basil ignores orders to return to England and decides to help the Samurai. Basil prepares for battle, he is given a set of red Samurai armor while Anna assists, her face filled with sorrow as she knows he may never return.
