What can my clients expect with a laminate commission? Such as with this YCH. (Final product here!)
There are 3 major steps.
First: Digital art is done. I keep clients up-to-date with all edits made. Frequency of the updates (once daily, or the whole process through the day,) is up to the client. Lineart edits can ONLY be made before coloring begins. Client will approve the lines before I begin to color. 🌷
Second: Printouts are made of the uncolored lineart. I check with the client that the size is good. (Badges start at approximately 5 inches tall, but can be adjusted to 4-7 inches.)
🎨 Once this is confirmed, I send the client test swatches. I sometimes test colors on a misprint so the client can check final composition.
The badge is lastly cut out with a combination of scissors & razor knife. I try my best to stick on-lineart, but this is not 100% on complex & small shapes.
Step # The client chooses a paper color. I will send you my available inventory during the commission, as it changes a lot. Here I have A red, B orange, C yellow, D green, and E blue; available in astrobright or marbled pastel.
Lastly: I package up everything to be shipped. A piece of recyclable cardstock is to prevent your badge from creasing; you also get most misprints & color tests! You will probably get some stickers or a tiny keychain charm as well 🩷
This is mailed as a standard letter to be cheaper than a “package” shipment. (Envelopes too large end up costing around $5 to ship instead of $1.)
I need a full mailing address to ship. This can be a Post Office box, home address, or business address.
USA addresses look like this:
Preferred first & last name
Street address or PO box
City, state, zip code
