A colour and edited variant. I'm pondering what creates a Yoshi that's deviated apart from his clan in physical traits, not just the circumstances. No scale ridges on his back head? Though he doesn't have his saddle in this picture, could that be it? Nah, the ladder'll have his species trademark saddle and any ridges for his back head (or not) in the future, just you wait. But the strongest might lie in the way he behaves and act in personality.

Though due to wearing armband and having a feather on his head, Rolando I (Rolly) looks strongly of that of the Chief Yoshi from the first Paper Mario; he and his lineage actually are inspired by Darmani from Majora's Mask - which is more accurate given the Proud Warrior Race Hero he invokes, and has a War Feather to signify his status as a Yoshi Hero.
