So
I found Slightly Damned around the time i was gonna enter Uni
Back then i was going thru a real messed up breakup and was p heartbroken at the time
So when i found out about Buwaro whilst browsing art and was curious regardin' his design i investigated and the rest is history
Buwaro may not seemingly mean that much to me due to the nature of my art, but the truth is he means so much more to me than just a comfort character.
He also represents not just mentally like a replacement for my ex but also the main reason why i started my artist career proper.
At one point i was considering doing my own webcomic and had a bunch of characters and plotlines ready but alas having to do all the Uni work as i did traditional & digital design and later animation cut my plans short (that combined with the fact i never really had much of a proper cohesive plot or comic structure in mind along with the fact i dinnae study comic creation speciality so i had no idea how to make the pages proper lol)
Regardless of me arriving into the SD community relatively "late" unlike most of the others in my group (only catching up to the latest page around the start of the St. Curtis arc before everythin' goes **** up) around 2014, i still feel honored to have such dear friends which i met due to this very comic;
My dear squirrel friend Ease who's always been there for me like an older sibling who always put me in the straight and narrow, Blitz who gave me the idea to make the Unofficial Buwaro Fanclub tm, and last but not least Vanno who's a real warm and caring friend full of kindness and loyalty.
And ofc, Chu themself i wanna thank as well for being such a patient and understanding artist who's fully ok w/ ppl doing spicy stuff with their characters and not flipping out, in what i personally consider an extremely good example of emotional maturity and in general being a cool as hecc person i'd like to meet someday
Chu if yer readin' dis ah hope ya come to Mexico City someday ah would gladly be yer tour guide lolol
...Casual language aside, i LOVE this comic and the community surrounding it regardless of popularity or how long it'll take for it to be done
Because honestly, when that day comes i'll be quite upset indeed for i'll have to say goodbye(ish), yet i'm fully thankful for the good times i had and the friends i made which i hope to continue having chats and misadventures with for the coming years and decades
Here's to more years to SD! A toast to Chu, Buwaro, and the rest of the cast!
