A year ago I met a user for whom I had made several free drawings because I always like to make free drawings, the same as always.
I made about 3 or 4 drawings and an animation of his character for that user.
After a while the user blocked me and forgot about me.
BUT!
The user contacted me again on February 20.
I had no grudge against that user so I decided to talk to him.
The guy, after talking for a while, asked me for an animation of his oc, an animation of his oc crushing someone with his ass and shaking it.
That was obviously a very complicated animation because the user ultimately asked me for it for FREE.
I told him that I couldn't do that, but I could make an animation of his oc with the ych ass.
he accepted.
A few minutes ago he asked me how the animation was going and I answered "I haven't and I don't think I will" that was because I would have to do my commissions tomorrow.
The user later asked me if he could redraw one of his ocs.
I told him, "no thanks, I prefer not to, There would be too many free jobs that I have been doing for you".
the user says to my face "you are selfish" and blocked me.
So guys, this is the story of how I became selfish.

i think situations like this are why i hate being asked what im doing, and why im not really open about whether i do requests at all because i hate being asked to do a complex thing in 2 seconds flat for someone random
you're not selfish for saying no and if anything they're the selfish one in this scenario, and i wish it was easier for me to set those boundaries for myself cause Uurgh:tm: i know your pain

yeah, and there's definitely a delicate balance between the two, because sometimes i can be too nice for my own good with people who bug me, but sometimes i think they're cool friends who just ping a bit too much for my liking
but sometimes it gets very blatant that they bug you and that you need to block them, and that is totally acceptable and i wish it was easier to just get that confidence in me
my main worry is if i become too hard on people where people are just scared to approach me, because i hate coming off like that and i hate seeing people who say they're super nice and friendly and yet make drama posts on everyone and everything for character choices and secret posting rules and out of context quotes
i dont think you fall under that though, you and your stuff are really cool and im glad that you stood up for yourself!!

Omg, talk about the Epitome of entitlement! He honestly had the audacity to call YOU selfish? Geez louise! What a piece of work! I mean, you, out of the goodness of your heart did all that for him, asking nothing in return, when you CLEARLY should have, and when you finally cut him off he decides to CUT you off?
Man, I honestly can't understand how some of these people's minds work,but I completely understand where you're coming from cause I too have been victimized by people with this kind of mind set.
But at least you got some legitimate friends here to support ya bud! *hug*
