Meloetta appears to be based on the Muses of Greek Mythology, in particular Terpsichore, the Muse of dance and chorus, and possibly Euterpe, the Muse of music and poetry. Meloetta's Aria Forme also resembles a typical singer with the black headpiece acting like a head microphone, while the Pirouette Forme resembles a ballerina wearing tutu and her "hair" curled up in a bun.
