I considered using undead, but I wanted something that would fit the dark scene, without coming across as inherently evil like undead tend to do. So, I went with constructs! :D
And a moving fortress.
I stylized and modified a few famous statues to use as golems in this piece. That was also something that I don't do very often, so it was rather fun to try.

I had fun with this one. I drew plenty of things that I don't draw very often in this piece. Including that castle on wheels.
The other wheels are hidden behind other parts of the army. That was probably my favorite thing to include. Moving fortresses are cool, but they aren't very common.

My only issue is the fog/light that's under the lances on the first big construct; it's rather pale compared to the rest, and looks rather linear coming form the left corner. Kinda makes me wonder why it's there, though I assume you have a reason for coloring it thus.
Looks awesome! I'm looking forward to see the three pieces put together, and hope they'll be posted herein. :D

I added in a few spotlight style light sources, coming from behind things on this side of the battlefield. That little bit of extra lighting added a lot to the atmosphere of the picture. They're probably coming from... something neat...
