A few semesters ago we had to use the theme of consumerism to be an illustration in a newspaper (such as the opinion section), to which I chose to go with the fact I've known of so many people that would rather spend their money on getting the best phones and over pay than to feed their families and have the state do it instead. I used a chicken in place of a human mostly because I nearly got ran over while trying to shop by two women like this within five minutes and the store wasn't even that crowded... squawking loudly on their phones.

I will point out that in no way am I trying to offend anyone who truly needs foodstamps (aka EBT cards) while doing what they can with what they have because I DO believe that said people are more than worthy of the help.

If you still feel offended by it, please do not leave angry comments as it will get you no where.
