Reicon is Japanese for spirit.

Reikon is a wolf spirit who has not passed on. It's his way of keeping the demon spirit within him trapped. But by trapping the demonic spirit on this world in this state, he has also trapped himself as well in an eternal Limbo. Although he houses the spirit of a demon, his good deed of keeping it trapped like he has has given him the form of an angel.
