We went up in the mountains to spend a weekend together some time ago.
We stopped along the road for lunch in Campo Imperatore, a big plateau on the western side of the main Apennine ridge. The area is a grassland almost completely without trees between 1500 and 2000 m in elevation. the place where we stayed is at the beginning of a secondary unpaved road that leads to an abandoned mine.
