I haven't had this particular scenario happen to me since I'm legally blind without my glasses and have to wear them every waking hour of the day to be able to see, but I've had it where I checked around my nightstand assuming my glasses fell off it, only for them to end up being right where I originally left them the whole time. Also happens a lot with my keys and wallet.
