mega evolutions are usually very painful and forced but typlosion as a pokemon is already on fire so i feel like that dark coloration should instead be fire bursting out of different parts of the body? making it so painful that he gains psychic powers!

Had to search that because I missed the lore that indicated it being a painful process! While not impossible for what’s being depicted here, I tend towards imagining all forms of transcendence to be exhilarating in one way or another, whether or not pain is involved! I wouldn’t be opposed to a look where he had black psychic fire coming out of him, I’ll have to keep that in mind. The original art of this mega evo is a few years old and a bit less flashy!
