In the previous pages of this grimoire, I mentioned possible future divinities, avatars of femininity and masculinity. As they stand, they have all the tools to become gods, but I do not have the ability to create 'finished' gods. It used to be child's play, but that was before... Before the Rupture...
That's another subject, I would better stick to this immortalisation above.
This figurative painting represents one of the many appearances of the one whom mortals can call Lord Roham. This is not, of course, their real name, but it would be difficult to convey the sound of a mortal being crushed by the weight of the abyss, howling from the depths of his guts in black silence. Their representations vary but this one, with horns, tusks, four eyes and four arms, is the one they use the most, varying in size for reasons of convenience. I will come back to this point with an illustration on a later page.
Lord Roham is a very ancient divinity, who appeared at the same time as darkness itself. It is debatable whether their appearance created the darkness or whether this entity was born from the darkness. The fact remains that they are as old as the Void itself, give or take a few eons. Just as they can take on many faces, their domains are numerous : darkness, of course, abyss, water, depths, secrets, primordial life, cold, madness, chaos, creation and destruction... And probably others that they have acquired over the course of eternity and their conquests.
Because, yes, they are as sweet and sensual as they are cruel and arrogant. Their thirst for power never ceases to grow and, before the Rupture, I saw entire universes fall simply because they wanted to. For the same reason, they also created worlds and galaxies in their own image. Creation and destruction are fundamental to the Void, but there is no pleasure or pain in it. Unlike Lord Roham, who revels in it.
They did not stop after the Rupture, of course. But I no longer had any point of reference on the universes that belonged to them or that they claimed to own. It was by an unfortunate chance that I set foot in their domain, an event I will talk about later, and since then they have held a bitter grudge against me, so we have remained in a perpetual conflict, albeit with a mutual understanding because... we are alike in so many ways.
And that is what worries me.
A grudge is one thing. But Roham's visceral, jealous refrain towards me, them being an eternal god at the height of their power, faced with my diminished existence and only being able to live like a mortal...
I know they are playing me. That they are waiting and that they have all eternity ahead of them. But waiting for what ? I have no idea.
The question torments me. The answer frightens me.
