These two! How convenient when your cast of characters are also your friends!
As always, you surprise and amaze with the subtleties of your creative ability:
these two very different body types interact so effortlessly and believably,
and that's a difficult feat to achieve.
It is also admirable how you can make those threatening displays from Taruk
seem so affectionate, either directly through the werewolf's expression,
or through Dog's cheerful trust and glowing joy!
The ember glow of Taruk's eyes is just amazingly striking,
and both these doggos look great against the starry backdrop!

Haha, thank you, thank you! I love to include different body types - one of the reasons I don't offer many YCHs is because I'm still figuring out how to offer them and including a variety of physical types. And yeah Dog directed me at some points about expressions, like "he can be more relaxed here", so all credits to him too π
Hurray for artist-client feedback!
And yes, YCH's are often limited to "standard person-sized mannequin" slots,
which excludes a lot of character physiques and body plans.
I feel like this mechanism has been stretched
past its natural limits, even though
it has helped lots of artists
to simplify their commissioned work process.
Ideally, an YCH should have a nice original sample picture
that would entice the customers to have their characters depicted
in the same appealing scene, or with the same background, or in the same poses,
but this format has become very similar to a coloring book in principle:
there are a couple/a few wireframe lean foxes in the sample frame,
and the customer gets to choose which color
their fur is going to be.

Sorry I laughted about the "lean foxes" but it is soooo true!
My last YCH I took the care to adjust the scale of the characters... it was a *slight* adjustment, but it was important for me. And for them π.
There are some more specific YCH, like "only X species", but again the market makes some species much more popular.
And this happens in a site that inhibits IA "art"! I need to stroll more around deviantArt to see how is it going......
Last not least, I have nothing against recoloring! I have my share of fun and learning doing adopts, it is cool (but even for some of them I adjust the lineart!). The big challenge is: how to do an YCH and respect diversity? It is still open

I don't mind the YCH, they help artists make a living,
it's just a few oddities and extremes than may make me grumble sometimes,
but even then I can't criticize a system that I don't participate in, really.
I like the more specific YCH patterns for the less common physiques and species,
and I admire the artists who do those at the cost of narrowing their customer
base for those particular offers!
