Another concept for a fox warrior as portrayed in The Shadow of the Dog Lord Anthropomorphic Fantasy Roleplaying Game.
I opted for less metal and more natural cloth on this one, with quilted leather forming the chest armour and flowing bits of earth-toned fabric forming the rest. The idea behind these guys armour is for them to not get hit in the first place rather than make armour to protect them when they are hit. Cloth and leather armour allows them to use their muscle to swing their axes and such.
I'm not as thrilled with this one as I'm uploading it than when I was drawing it...hmm, oh well.
Enjoy!

For some reason he makes me think of Gimli >.< Probably due to the similar colour scheme, similarity of the runes you've used to the Cirth runes, and the axes. Either that or I really am crazy :P
That aside, nice work. Nice idea with the fluff reasoning :) One suggestion in addition - perhaps mention them using silk shirts or similar; if I recall correctly, the Mongols used silk shirts to help protect them from arrows (or rather, make it easier to draw out arrows with bodkin and other heads designed to tear flesh when they were withdrawn).
