It could be the packaging on his cologne. Bay leaf, black pepper, spikenard, and orange. Bring them in with the familiar then hit them with the Nard and they will never forget you... or something. IDK I am no good at marketing. would smell nice though.

one things people never really think about. Why is perfume hundreds of dollars an ounce? You have notes of how it smells Top, heart, and bottom. Top are things you note first, heart or core are what you settle into and bottom are stuff you only note after it is gone.

He would have a bright start almost tangerine into spikenard and pepper, spikenard smells like rain on a really hot day. Base of pepper and bay.
