HAPOT file #38:
Ingrid Arawn
Position:
Hired Mercenary
Information:
While information on her early life is hard to find or get out of her, it is certain that Ingrid was raised by her father in a tribal village where power was the biggest symbol of status and as such she was raised and became a powerful warrior, only leaving the tribe to work as a mercenary with her sister, seeking out powerful foes to defeat, seemingly to proof her tribe's strength while her continuing to wear their clothing seems to further support her fondness and desire to show her tribe's strength.
Just as fiery as her desire for a challenge is her personality, Carla has a distain for most people, only having a small soft spot for her sister Ingrid and has shown to not smile, only rarely doing so while in combat. Aside from this, she is generally easy to provoke and if already in a bad mood will get physical if only looked at the wrong way, which can be beneficial if raw powerful anger can be used against our enemies. She is however, amused by our modern world, most notably the nightlife and older more violent cartoons.
Skills:
Ingrid is someone who relies on raw strength to achieve her goals, using brute force to slash her way through opponents quite brutally at times. While a poor strategy for most, the absolute strength Ingrid has makes this actually the optimal strategy to take full advances of her when required to take out most targets. She can however still listen to instructions from her sister and has ways to ensure her attacks will not be lethal should a target be needed alive.
One of the Arawn sisters' biggest trump cards however is their magic called "Flame Mode". While this ability can only last for around a minute before it has to be recharged it turns their eyes a burning red and allows the two to become invulnerable, allowing bullets and weapons to bounce off them while also letting them channel powerful fire through themselves and their weapons. Ingrid uses this power as an extra boost, having used the invulnerability to close gabs from gunfire and channeling the fire through her axe to shoot off flames even outside of her axe's rage while swinging it to deal more damage. Despite the Flame Mode seeming to only benefit Ingrid, she will often choose not to use it due to her pride and desire to proof her strength without it, only really activating it for targets that she's fed up with and targets she considers cowardly.
Assignment:
Both sisters are assigned to multiple assignments and while not always assigned together still have one of the best track records out of any of our field operatives, making their unwillingness to become official parts of the organization rather unfortunate, despite our jobs paying well they seem to like getting jobs from multiple sources.
Our main assignment for the two sisters however has been the main "Courage Unleased" project. Both get sent out together and on their own. Though so far unsuccessful at capturing the target, they have shown the most consistent positive results and seem dedicated to the cause, Ingrid herself refusing to accept defeat by this guardian she believes is inferior to her, so as long as the boss desires it, they will remain on the case.
Conclusion:
Ingrid is a very powerful asset to have. While her anger can proof though to work with, when pointing that anger to the right source she can deal a great amount of damage that we can take a lot of advantage of. We will defiantly keep this tribal warrior will stay an asset to our cause.
So here's an updated reference shot of Ingrid, giving a bit more detail to her backstory and abilities. While wanting to update Carla's design and giving her her own reference I figured it also made sense to do the same for Ingrid, though since Ingrid's design already looked great it's more or less just a cool action pose of her, which I do think turned out looking very nice! Main change to her design was the addition of a wool trim at the end of her cape which has already been in plenty of pics so it seemed only fitting. Overal I think this was a pretty fun pic to work on and I hope you all enjoy!
Ingrid belongs to me.
