Short n’ Red of the Golden Fields
Short n’ Red, as the fat little imp demands to be called, is a rogue spirit of one kind or another who frequents the golden fields north of Aubur, a mildly contested border town between the largest of the fox countires, the Wolventhrone Empire, and the last of the donkey kingdoms.
Short n’ Red cares little for the politics on the surface, but the fiery fiend deeply appreciates the supplies and food so often abandoned by the increasing amounts fleeing refugees, routed armies, and would-be-heroes.
The lush, golden fields the satyr tends were once quiet small, as was he himself - but the increased yield of goods has expanded his domain alongside his flabby, rounding stomach. The satyr is practically invulnerable, being able to vanish into the yellow sea of grasses whenever he pleases, loving to commit prank-and-runs against any who cross his land.
No matter how strongly the villagers of Aubur try to slash or burn his lush grasses, they always come back the next morning, stronger and taller than ever… And the unfortunate village will find it’s pantries sparser than ever, along with all kinds of silly booby traps lying in wait!
The old souls of the town and passing scholars often debate whether Short n’ Red is the master of the golden grasses, or merely a pawn for some greater, older magic - but they are certain only that he is a greedy, annoying little nuisance best avoided, for sake of your supplies and your sanity!

This is a fun little satyr I doodled up sometime last month, fitting lightly into the Bountiful Bloodlines DnD setting I crafted ages ago. I really must put out more about that setting sometime soon, but for now, I think it’s best to leave it confined to odd little post descriptions like this.
