Listen, Amy is an incredibly cute character and I love drawing her a lot and will keep doing so. She's actually the most kind-hearted and supportive character in the whole Sonic series, wanting to spread her message of love and such everywhere, but sometimes when she's in the way for no reason in the Sonic story plots it needs to be called out.

Yes, Amy's entire role for SA2...is just being there for absolutely no reason. Sure you're free to make the argument that she "rescued" Sonic from G.U.N (by asking him to marry her first) and that she encouraged Shadow to help Sonic and his friends from preventing the Space Colony Ark from colliding with Earth (only because he saw flashes of Maria in her), but Rouge easily could have fulfilled that role to encourage Shadow and Tails even questioned why Amy was even with him to begin with. She even gets forgotten and ditched several times during the story. Long story short, for SA2 Amy was just along for the ride for the sake of being there for the ride...
