And next up in the design evolution series we got Julian. Who clearly never managed to even get close to the heights of his pre-release placeholder. But you know, some of us just peak really early. Can't hold it against Jules.
And yeah, he also had an intermediate step between version 1 and 2, so the template broke and I was too lazy to sort it out. But yeah, a design where I knew very early that I wasn't quite happy with it, and it only continued on as I got to know the character better and developed a better feel for him as he became the kind of playfully bratty lizard that he is now. So yeah, A redesign was most certainly in order and he's one of the ones that that probably had the biggest glow-up between v1 and v2.

Pffff, Yeah. I just wanted him to have some puffy clothing elements, but the thing is by the time the game is set they've been out of fashion for at least half a century if not more. So it feels weird to have him actually have puffy arms of some kind. That's what I was trying with the current design. Trying to give the impression of it while staying more true to the fashion preferences of the time the game is set. Especially so for a younger and financially well-off character like Julian, who would probably be pretty up to date with the newest trends at the time.
Not to say that it's 100% sticking to accuracy of course. In the end i just want it to be a fun outfit that fits the character over being entirely accurate, but ya know, want to at least have it be generally going in the correct direction.
And yeah, I do want to bring the pre-release stuff in at some point, and i'm sure there is some easy way of doing. I just don't really know how and would have to look into it, given how much more complex the current sprites and display animations are. So it's just not time i want to dedicate right now.

Make him canonically a 'Renaister' like a hipster but ye olde
Historical fantasy does give you some wiggle room,as does eccentricity, like the guy that went into ww1 as 'the last night' in full plate on a horse living with no modern amenities in his castle
Nah dude it's defo a low priority XD But would be a fun meme , maybe look at doing it unannounced for a April 1st update one day in the future XD
