Sometimes, yeah. I've been down there before, and I realize what I'm putting at stake.

There are many less fortunate, there is much I'll lose by prematurely cutting myself off, there are people that I'll damage, and all moments pass.

Suicide is a state of delusion where the person's emotional pain is so excrutiating it leads them to kill themself to ease that pain(not because they want to die). Many people dont realize others in that state of mind are suffering from a real illness and lack the ability to think rationally. They just are not capable of perceiving the world in the same ways we can at least temporarily. You can expect the same rational thinking from a box of donuts. I used to get mad when someone said suicides go to hell or are selfish but its really not like that at all. Those are excuses for the survivors to feel better, to shake off the guilt because they cant understand that state of mind. On the other hand for the deceased killing themselves probably causes more issues for them in the afterlife given they never solved the underlying problems and now there is no way they can.

SORRY END RANT. lol. Im a psych major and suicide is close topic to me. The image is very nice, i like the black and white effect and the face makes it! :)

I went through that. It was unbearable, and I never knew why I had thoughts about it. Now I understand that it was to escape from the emotional pain, instead of actually erasing myself from existence. But I realized that in order to escape the situation I was in, I would have to physically harm myself. I don't want to do that. I don't want a permanent solution to a life I already built up. The concepts of dreams and desires I had for the future. A family who I knew loved me even though I felt trapped. Because of that, I haven't laid a scratch on myself. I valued what I had too much.

Many don't share that privilege of having something worth living for. And then I also realize that a body alive is always better than a corpse. Something can always be done in the right direction. Start from ground zero and walk from there. Temporary problems shouldn't be solved with permanent solutions.

My dad's a PhD in the Psychology of drug usage and depression amongst Latinos, and a Post-Doctorate in Mental Health Disparities. I'm extremely fortunate to have him in my life! He's taught me invaluable lessons and ways of thinking, and helps me through the worst of times.

Im glad you survived. That makes you a survivor and no one can tell you otherwise. Ive also been through similar but after my dad caught me cutting the last time I felt so ashamed. Its been 4 years since then. I've found other ways to cope with the pain.

You are very lucky to have such a wise dad. Psychological well being is extremely important. Not many kids get what they need emotionally these days.
