Here I am again! Posting flat unshaded ""art"" made out of pure boredom. At Actual midnight. yay
Lately I've just been getting SO BORED with my attempts at ""art"" from the past few years. But last month I had the idea to start drawing simplified fan art of furry stuff like Sonic characters, and get a self taught degree in "cringe basic furry art" going.
But while I've been sitting on that idea for a while, that surprisingly isn't where this one came from. Today I was feeling stressed and bored again, and just... had some really unusual ideas for furry art. The kind of "I don't know what the heck is wrong with me, but I'm sure some fellow degenerate from Furaffinity would be totally into this stuff" ideas. The ones we've all had. Most of them involving Retsuko here. Like, for SOME REASON my furry brain just randomly said "You know what'd be fun? Drawing some sick and messed up furry art because I CAN. You know who'd be a cute character to submit to my madness? Sure, Retsuko" lol. And while I had the mouth watering urge to draw my unhinged ideas upfront, I first wanted to see if I could draw her at all. And I'd say this turned out SURPRISINGLY GOOD? (Compared to my past attempts at art anyways)
She ended up a little chonky, but that's just the kinda guy I am. It was bound to happen, lol. The only thing I dislike about this is how the legs are posed a little awkward, but that's the only way I know how to draw legs from my old old OLD attempts at doodling comics. And is something I should probably fix in future sketch attempts.
My main goal for this was to draw the character from visual reference but without tracing anything or using any grid snaps. I'd say I did good, all things considered.
Might draw Sonic or something else next. Not sure yet.

Aggretsuko has really been my #1 comfort show since it came out. You'd think it'd be for the relatable jokes and gimmicks. But actually because of the heavy metal jokes and how it lead to character development. Since my teen years I've grown up addicted to linkin park and other nu metal bands when they first started out, but nobody in my friend groups or family ever understood or respected it as a genre. And strangely, Aggretsuko was the first thing in my life (not a person, not a song. But a show, of all possibilities) that really sent me the message loud and clear: "IT IS OK TO BE LIKE THIS!!!"
With that being said, it's going to be some awkward fun if I can get better at art and start drawing furry shenanigans with this or any number of simplified characters. This is furaffinity, after all. There is nothing holy about this place, we are furries and we love chaos. >:]
But you can bet if I do make any future Retsuko art, I am always going to be listening to Lorna Shore while I do it. As I have already done for this one, lol. Just look at the soulless existence in those eyes.
