I drew this MONTHS ago, and completely forgot about it until Renard was doing a live stream earlier, and the subject of his retired aliases somehow came up in chat. I was told I should post this.
So. YEAH. IT'S SIGMA. Despite being very much retired, I love him, and with Renard's permission updated his design. Nothing major, I just felt he looked oddly casual for a four-armed mutant lizard before. And I made his spikes more Godzilla-like, hahah.

Also, moving this to scraps because it's a bit old/not my best work or anything.

I will say right now that most people don't know how to do, like, more than two arms well. The way they look usually annoys the hell out of me.
But the way you do it looks... right. Like it should be, instead of... HEY I'M STICKING ARMS IN THIS GUYS RIBS YAAAAY I WILL NAME HIM GORO.

I try to avoid what I consider painful anatomy... i.e. tails coming out of backs and arms jutting out of ribs, hahah. I had trouble getting it to look right, but in the end I just had to give him an elongated torso and make the bottom arms smaller to make it seem even REMOTELY proportionate. It's still a might wonky, but I am glad you appreciate my extra-arm-drawing efforts ;w;

I drew him without it once, haha. I gave him this cute little stegosaurus beak-mouth, and Renard ALMOST liked it enough to let me change it, but ULTIMATELY it's not Sigma without the mask.
I just like to think his face was jacked up in a fight, and he couldn't afford proper re-constructive surgery.

BUT NOOB QUESTION. I'm gonna buy SAI since my trial ran out, BUT I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU COLOR YOUR LINEART. and How you make it so edgy. Is there a specific tool you use? or do you just do it all by free hand?

I just use the pen tool to do my line art (here's my settings). I usually do the lines in a dark purple, and then adjust the color with the Hue and Saturation slider until it's how I want it :3 You can also check "preserve opacity" when you're done with the lines, which will allow you to color JUST the lines. And to make it sharp/edgy uh.... that's just how I draw, haha.

I love seeing pictures where strange anatomy makes sense. Especially multiple armed characters. This is really well done :3 Do you mind if I reference this when I finally get around to drawing my 4 armed character? It's just hard for me to picture it sometimes. Sometimes the arms are placed more on the back and are smaller, other times they're place right underneath the top arms.
Aaaah, Sigma. You remixed Vertex into something actually resembling music, you made Origin, one of my favorites (if only for that section in the middle), and you made amazing boss-like music. Man, I was sad when Renard dropped that alias, because it (and Sonitus Vir) were responsible for almost all of my favorites back in the day.
I'll agree that the gasmask is perfect for the character. Trying to imagine him without it is just weird. The form overall looks pretty friggin' fantastic. It's bizarre without being too freaky, and awesome without relying on clothing or weaponry (how many characters look just as great if you take away whatever totally awesome outfit/weapon they always show off with?)
