I made a journal on DA recently about how many of my characters are the same character, but adapted to fit in with the world they exist in.
This guy is a vervet monkey, created especially for my TLKFAA account, and his name is moto which is swahili for fire, and he is the African-animal version of my rat character, Zero.
I chose a monkey, not only because I love primates of all types, but because Sid (DJ from Slipknot, whom Zero is based on) used to be called monkey-boy (aswell as rat boy, lol) for his habit of climbing things. I decided pretty early on that I wanted to focus on one of Sid's other masks, Zero having laid claim to the gas mask idea already. So his skull mask seemed ideal. The skull markings on his hands were inspired by Sid's transformer tattoos.
A regular vervet monkey has a paler body and a black face. I switched this around for Moto. Its also fits in rather nicely with my habit of using skull-like markings (Calx, my alternate version of Ziggy with her skull mask etc).
As you can see, the attraction to fire remains, though I likely won't emphasise it as much as with Zero.
Not sure on much of his personality yet, this pic was more to get his design out of my head and into reality. Im thinking he is an outcast from his troop, as most of my African slipknot animals will be, hence why they band together. Hes quite young, entirely too enthusiastic and hyper (as I guess monkeys are famous for being) and not afraid of a fight. We shall see how he evolves
