I commissioned this piece at Fur The More 2023. At cons, especially when working with artists I have never commissioned before, I like to give artists the barest outline of the Academy and some loose suggestions and then give them freedom to see what they come up with. I absolutely adore this cute little scene Cailin created! <3
Cailin’s description:
“I kinda imagined it as one had a crush, and had finally gotten to nerve up to tell the other, but started to freeze as soon as she began.”
I’ve named the vixen Knoll of Dark Red and the doe Ammannia of Violet.

“Good morning, Ammannia!” Knoll exclaimed brightly. The doe had been working up the courage to approach, but the vixen spotted her first.
“Good morning, Knoll…” How was Knoll always so poised, so pretty? It wasn’t even Midsummer and she was wearing flowers in her fur.
“How are you today, Ammannia? I hope your make-up test went well.”
“Oh. Fine. It was… fine. I wanted… I wanted to thank you for your help…”
“It was my pleasure, Ammannia. I enjoyed working with you!”
Ammannia’s heart beat faster, her sweater starting to stick to her fur. “Yeah, it was great… I wanted to tell you... I wanted... I really... Um... I was wondering… if you’re… if you are not busy – it’s no big deal if you can’t! – But, um, maybe later, Knoll, we could meet up… have dinner. Together. Um.”
“Oh, I would love that!”
“You- you would?”
“I dine with Dakeh and Nineveh, I would love to introduce you to them!”
“Oh. Oh, yeah… that’d be great…”
“I have to run now, I have duty, but how about tonight? See you after the evening bell?” And before Ammannia could respond, Knoll darted away with a flash of her tail.
