Hun... they are rats... they don't last long... It looks like they are very sick. Pine bedding and the like which seems to be what you have in there now can kill rodents. They are sensitive to that stuff. I've had rodents all my life. They are good starter pets for kids and for people that can handle short life expectenys. I really wish you to best, but I wouldn't fret so much. If it was a cat or a dog I could so understand. Most I've had a rodent live for was three years. And that was a hamster.
*hugs*
Also check it for lumps and see if it's dehydrated. You can get a empty syringe at a pharmacy and feed it by mouth and try and nurse it yourself. I had to do that when a ferret of mine got ECE. Also, look around for something it may have swallowed. It could have a blockage. Rats eat anything. When I had rats one of them destroyed my hair straighter cord :/
Sorry... if I seem harsh. It just took me a long time to learn not to invest my emotions into a rodent. We don't get much time with them.

I've been using the recylced bedding like its a paper based type thing, it went up in price for a small cube of it and so my mom figured wood shavings, cause they were in the pet store too next to them, and I remembered hearing about shavings...but she got them anyway. I also received these guys in a bed of shavings, so I could have gotten them sick before I knew it.
and the money situation, its 48 per rat for examination, plus taxes so rougly 100 dollars, I called our vet they have a spot open but my mom is 'thinking' about it, the app would be for 2morrow. and Ive opened commissions dozens of times, for when my brother OD'ed and now these guys, and no one...seems to bite much. I got like 1? but haven't been paid just yet.
I know they don't last long but I got them when they were 4 months old, I've have them for 6 months now, they are barely a year!..this is so unfair...there no lumps, just his nose is all red and they sneeze alot..but he squirms so much I can't get a good hold on him...I'm scared..

*nodnods* It's most likely the bedding. Look up online what to do with rats that are sick and try and save yourself a visit. I dunno much what a vet can do that wont cos a ass load of money. Keep a careful watch on them and wrap which one you are trying to work with in a towel so they don't squirm as much, also pet it's head and behind it's ears to calm it down. Rats can be pretty sweet creatures I know. It'd be really helpful to look into getting a syringe. They so come in handy, anything from feeding a ferret to a kitten. I've had to take care a kitten since the second she was born and her momma was killed two weeks after. I've had her since. So meh, I know what it's like to have a sick pet. But I'd calm down. Like I said, they are rats. Rodents don't last 10-20 years like dogs or cats.
