Hey everyone! Since it's been 2 weeks since Chapter 1 was fully released, I wanted to go over my thoughts on it and how I'm doing now! ^vv^ (If you're interested in hearing about that lol)
Firstly, I'm really happy to hear lots of you enjoyed the new monsters! ^vv^ It took a very very long time to get all 20 in, but I'm glad I made the decision, with your help of course, to release the demo a few months prior. I'm sorry it took so long, but doing spritework for months on end really slowed down my progress (even if I did try to work every opportunity I had). I'll probably address this problem soon, since art is what takes me the absolute longest in the project. Just to put things into perspective, I have 72 sprites for each monster and 16 portraits, as well as any animations I need for their moves, it wasn't easy to do that 20 times... (1440 sprites and 320 portraits total just for the player/partner mons. I make less for npc monsters thankfully). This is why I have some sprites that, yeah, look a little rough or copy-pasted Xvvx In the future, I might reach out for help from you all in the community between when I'm done patching chapter 1 and working on chapter 2... not ENTIRELY sure how, what, or when yet... but if you're interested in helping out the project... be on the lookout for that when I figure it out >vv<
I will say, I'm a little sad that many of the people I could see play it thought there would be additional story content.... I feared that this would happen, and I made sure to elaborate every place I posted that there was no additional story content in this update, but unfortunately I guess I couldn't make everyone see that... xvvx It really dug in the whole "slow development" I've been hearing recently into my head >vv< I know I know, I am one guy and hopefully reaching out like I mentioned above will alleviate some of that going forward. Just want to take a second to say In case you don't understand, I just wanted Chapter 1 to be what I wanted the demo to be months ago- the intro with all 20 characters and decently refined.... while the demo itself was a bit of a buggy mess and only had 10.--
Moving past that though to the good news: I have a new patch coming out soon that includes FINALLY some much-needed working features the entire project will use...
Including some pace-based options to speed up gameplay slightly, lots of bug fixes (including that annoying portrait flipping one), and a (pretty much) fully functioning dungeon save feature.
I'll be working with a friend after this patch to allow the game to pick up any control axis- meaning you'll be able to go into the settings and make it pick up your dualshock (or random other controller) and get the game to recognize it properly in a future patch. Kind of a big deal to me. >vv< Need to take my time on this patch though since it touches the delicate save feature and I do not want to corrupt any saves. We'll talk about it soon! ^vv^
Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble, reporting bugs to me, and helping support the project by sharing it around and just overall being nice. I'll keep doing my best, see you soon! Have a great weekend! ^vv^/

Thanks for coming on the stream and yeah, tbh with ya, i just thought chapter 1 was like after the dungeon since well... there wasn't the thing that PMD game does where it shows like "Chapter 1 and then text" so that was a bit confusing when you said that it was chapter 1 ._.' (also what even was that luck of getting one of the monsters that you added when the update dropped xD)
Still really enjoyed it doing it on stream (and on my own save file before that) ! Looking foward to the new content and/or posts you'll be making ^^
For now, have a great weekend !

Have fun making the game ! (and if ya need any tester for stuff, im down to help since i'm not very good at drawing xD)
