As he walks in the forest, Crouton falls on a mysterious chest, with threatening signs.
Looking up what's inside he finds a beautiful shining gem, with lots of golden coins.

"What do all these signs mean? When I can get this beautiful artefact on my fat neck?" Self asked the big Tarasque
But seems like he's been underestimating the "strength" this jewel has!
