Every day that passes
Each year the world turns
I gaze upon this heart of mine
And see for whom it yearns
It comes as no surprise
It startles not a bit
That deep inside this soul and mind
Your gentle light stays lit
Your hand held warm in mine
Your lips upon my brow
The things you say when we're alone
What happens then and now
Your gentle voice and eyes
Your laughter and your smile
The good times and the bad times shared
Still loving all the while
Your wisdom and your wit
Your forgiveness and love
These things and more prove to me you're
My angel from above
Another year has passed
We're older now, it's true
Just part of the eternity
I'll love spending with you.
Happy Birthday, Aja.
Your love,
Matthew
