So yes, it’s finally here! Avatar The Last Airbender’s live action adaptation has finally come out! And as a long time fan of the franchise (with the exception of a movie that never officially happened), I could not have been happier with it! The casting is amazing, with all four actors/actresses perfectly fitting their characters almost to a T; the sound effects actually excel better than the original show; the visuals are a feast for the eyes; and the bending is absolutely spot on. And while yes, it does start off very different from the original show, it gives us a couple things that many, many fans have been asking for for years, which I will not spoil.
I will give a word of warning, but a fitting one at that: just like with Netflix’s adaptation of One Piece, if you go into this show expecting a shot to shot remake, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. Or if you go into it hating the show to begin with, that’s all that’s going to happen. But if you go in with an open mind, it’s truly something special!
To commemorate the occasion though,
Cervelet was kind enough to draw me doing what I always figured was my bending style, waterbending.
