What happened to his supposedly big family, we ever going to see them stepping into help out? Also who’s organising the empire while the family are trying to cope with the everyday? 🤔

Thought you forgot about them after reading your description, almost brought it up myself ngl... The actual story draft says that Nystr's family was divided very hard upon the entire conspiracy thing as many disowned him over staying loyal to his love. Though waht remained eventually reunited afte rthe story concluded many of the family still do not want to asociate with Nystr himself much, but a good chunk of his family is right there for him. In what I got planned hew receives a lot of aid from cousins, aunts and uncles in raising the kids so he is ot exactly a single dad though he is a widow obviously... Growing up the kids are lovred a lot but also face much pressure and judgement.

The empire is structured like this: Vsyx knew he rtime was coming and spoke to her partner about that, he is not much of a leader so Vsyx assembled a sort of senate/council of governors and acquaintances that she deemed competent. Nystr merely is a "formal, ceremonial" emperor who gets to veto decisions that he thinks go against what Vsyx would've wanted. And with the kids growing up well... Everyone is looking at these 3 to step up to be the next, which the grey one will be. The other two like their father have no interest in ruling, but for different reasons. And well, there are still some that say that Vsyx really was a fraud, I imagine they get all the louder after her death and tat that is one of the worst threats for the family at large. Eventually Zyru, the grey one will face down with the main detractor of Vsyx but that is all yet to be clearly layed out, I only know what I want their upbringing to look like rn... And the vague details of what all 3 will do later on... They as a trio will do what their mother alone wasn't able to. But as you can tell by what you've drawn here... They don't always get along either.
