He's our new personal weird Mothman, Mircea Clendenin.
During his hours of rest, the laboratory staff restrains Mircea with a straight jacket and with one (or sometimes more) chains: this might seem like a way to protect the scientists from him, but in reality it is to prevent him from hurting himself or trying to kill himself (again).
His eyes no longer have eyelids like human ones, but only a semi-transparent nictitating membrane; even during sleep, Mircea's eyes appear fully open unless examined closely.
