A Stop Motion using Warhammer 40k tanks. Made in just under 4 hours at school during our Open-day. Haven't added any sounds yet but this was fun to make.
EdIt: I really have to thank my 'cameraman' on this too. He sat there at the Mac making sure my hands weren't in the way, that I didn't move the pieces too far, making sure it looked right on screen. And most of all, he took the pictures. It wouldn't even be half this long without him (it takes alot of time to keep running around the table just to press the spacebar let alone check to make sure everything is correct).

All you did is some sort of digital camera (I used a new video camera hooked directly up to the Mac running iStopMotion. In English, the Fast way), a load of patience and a workspace that no-one will touch.
Anything can be used for this type of animation. If you really are that stumped, buy a bag of Army Men for $2.
Stop Motion is 1/5th skill, 4/5th's Patience.
