Yes, to a degree. Dr. Ferter is an intelligent form created with Ferter's gas magic. He is a separate character on how they act and what their goals are. Only sharing pieces of each other's memories when they switch.

Yes. They both drive him nuts, but they rely on him to figure out what happened while the other is "asleep."
