Nina often gets terrible nightmares during the night and sometimes those nightmares are so bad she can't sleep, often waking up screaming or crying due to her past trauma. Atreus one time was at the rehabilitation center doing a report for O.D.I.N. when he heard screaming coming from Ninas room, running to the room he'd open the door to find Nina squirming in her bed as she mutters out words such as please or no. During that night Atreus would wake Nina up to snap her out of the nightmare, holding her close as she clings to Atreus scared and crying as she was clearly shaken up by what just happened. After some time Nina would calm down but would not let go of Atreus cause she's scared and doesn't want him to leave her alone in the dark... Though despite Atreus not being a qualified doctor like O.D.I.N. he's one of 3 people she fully trusts, hoping on the bed with her he'd hold her close, giving her soft pets as she'd cuddle him tightly.

"it's ok Nina... you're safe here" Atreus would say as he looks out of the window. The lights of Avalon would shine brightly along with the brightness of the moon as he comforts her. "I promise nothing will happen to you while I'm here..."

After that Nina would eventually fall asleep in his arms and although he did want to leave to let her sleep, he'd sigh before looking down to see her finally getting some sleep. He'd smile knowing that O.D.I.N. wouldn't mind this for one night. As the sun began to rise much later O.D.I.N. would open the door to see how Nina was doing only to find her deep asleep, looking up to see Atreus holding her close, sleeping as well. As much as it was needed for O.D.I.N. to check up on nina he knew that the past few nights weren't good for her but for the first time he'd see Nina smiling as she held onto Atreus, getting SAM to take a picture of the two before departing the room and gently closing the door and allowing them to get some much needed rest.
