well diping persons into FEV and make them into supermutants could count as tranzforming...
and beside the virgen guy in Fallout 4 the process is permament( his cure was posible becaus he have develop it base on his own dna and it rewers the FEV mutation by another mutation that mutatet his cell into the origian human)

Also the FEV can use to fusion humans with outer lifeforms. the original Fallout centaurens have a human and a dog head. The humans were most liket so radioactive conterminatet that the createt SM were braindeath( that why the master in F1 want the vaul 13 location. he need humans that were not conterminatet for top Supermutants)
Well bouth process were most liket way way more paintfull as most tranzforming would us sugest!
