Rygone blinked slowly as he walked into his home, flicking on a light switch before grimacing at the harsh illumination it had activated.
The day had been a long one, and he was ready for bed. Not even thoughts of dinner could sway him from his meandering task of slowly peeling off his work suit as he crossed the threshold into his bedroom.
So tired...
A yawn split his lips as he stretched out his body, barely aware as, while slipping off his shoes and socks, two alien feet stretched out and grasped at the carpet now free from their prison.
Blearily he noticed something was off, the carpeting feeling strange underneath him, but it was okay. Bed called him.
Walking awkwardly upon his changed toes, two graspers in front and one behind, he leaned against the dresser and slowly opened it.
Huh...since when did his hand only have three claws? It looked like it was covered in a strange chitinous yellow glove. He didn't remember putting that on.
Another yawn broke his concentration, his issue fading into the back of his mind as sleep once more took priority. He would just take it off later.
Slipping his pajamas on, he purred at the feeling of the soft material against his skin. Though it seemed fainter than he remembered. Like as if his skin had developed a layer of armor between him and his clothing.
Small tearing sounds resounded in the room as a third yawn broke leveled out from his stretching maw. Slowly his thick growing tail wagged behind him as he wobbled in place.
Oh gosh...he didn't have the energy to move anymore and his bed was so close...
If only he could somehow just get over there without moving. Wouldn't that be nice?
A smile flowed across his features as his bangs took on a yellow tinge. A color similar to that which now covered most of his body.
Maybe if he just thought hard enough he woul-
VOIP
Suddenly he found himself tucked between his sheets, staring at the ceiling as moonlight softly glowed along its surface. When had he crawled into bed?
A final yawn echoed through his body as he decided that was tomorrow's problem to figure out.
Snuggling his changed Abra body into his covers, he allowed sleep to finally overtake him with a happy smile.
Goodnight...
There's something about Abra that I like. I'm not sure what it is specifically but I do find its design and concept appealing. A sleeping psychic creature that can teleport anywhere it wishes to avoid danger. Simple, but effective.
That said, drawing outside of its official lore, there's a certain charisma to the Pokemon that can lead one down a rabbit hole if you look closely enough. For example, its feet are in a rather alien configuration. Two graspers in front and one behind. What kind of evolution and environment must've spurred this development? Especially for a creature that stays asleep...simply floating or sitting down most of its life.
Whatever the case may be, this creature has a special place in my heart. I hope to see more of it in the future!
