Furcadia Description
I was the solar wind that carried you. I created galaxies with a thought and destroyed them in a pinch. Worlds were just a dream that faded as my eyes revealed.
Falling from the void as the might drained, leaving but traces of a spirit. I take the shape of the creatures I see, making anew of the old.
History
Cosmic was one of many Creators, bringing about the materials to let us be. The will of The Greaters made them, giving them the power to build entire worlds, entire galaxies with their dreams; to end a nightmare with a twitch.
As the universe filled, the old solar systems grew tired. The Greaters believed the time had come for them to sleep for the rest of eternity, beckoning for The Creators to wake; and so they did, one by one, letting their dreams fade to nothing.
Some were too weary to begin again; drifting into the empty darkness. Others had been renewed by their countless millennia of peaceful rest, eager to repaint the skies. Cosmic, however, had been depleted of energy and was one of the unlucky drifters; floating alone, waiting for something to interrupt his seemingly endless journey.
Slowly regaining strength, Cosmic came upon a meteor, perhaps falling towards a place of refuge. Becoming one with the cold stone, it began to glow a tail of fire and ice. As they traveled, a planet came into sight. The will of The Greaters directed their path towards this globe for it led straight into a small yet beautiful tarn surrounded by large, sharp peaks.
Landing with little more than a splash into the cool waters, the mighty meteor had been burned down to a steaming pebble. Sinking to the bottom of the clear lake, the tired spirit pulled in just enough energy; not wanting to harm the native life; to allow one chance to fit in. Floating up to the surface as a shimmering presence with a hint of orange and blue.
Upon emerging from the resting place of the shuttle, Cosmic found a small group of onlookers who had seen them fall into the waters. They didn't notice the space traveler rising from the depths; the sun had been setting, casting its bright light across the small ripples through a gap in the mountains.
Curious about the beings, for this planet was on the other side of the system, Cosmic studied each of them. Each had characteristics that stood out; one with large ears that perked with a similar curiosity, another had lean powerful legs with sharp claws on each of their toes. A third was swimming out towards the spot where they had hit with a short muzzle and bright eyes. Two more emerge from the bushes near the rest, the twitch of a short tail and thin yet sturdy upper body.
Frightened of being touched as a spirit and quickly moving to the shore opposite the other visitors, Cosmic had decided they were what was normal for this world, taking what shapes of each that were most interesting. The superb ears of a bat, quick legs of a cheetah, expressive face of an otter, eager tail of a rabbit, the torso and arms of a fox. These, however, were the only features that could be seen on these beings for fabric covered all others, so respecting what seemed to be custom, the rest of the borrowed energy was put into mimicking a pair of shorts to cover what was not shown.
