Comic: Guided By The Wind (Page 10)
The moon shines a cool, bright shade of blue, setting a calm tone for Ithaca’s confession, “After a brave soul risked his life to help us escape, I realized that there's still good to be found in this world, even when everything seems hopeless.” “People come together and try their hardest to make things work.” Many years ago, during her forceful stay in Zeptia, the Flame Capital, one selfless individual risked his own life to save those around him, ensuring they could carry on the fight in his stead. His true fate was unknown, but his deed would be forever cherished. Then, Ithaca brings the conversation back to Zenchi, “That's why I stay hopeful. That's the key. and I know you are too, Zenchi, that's why you fight.” She ends her monologue with a powerful statement, “To a lot of people, you're the revival of hope in this decrepit world.”
Ithaca reaches her hand out to the defeated warrior, urging her not to give up. “You haven't changed a bit. The Zenchi I remember was the bravest girl I knew, forging her own path, doing things her way, but still wanting a better future for all.” Zenchi hesitates, still unwilling to talk. Ithaca makes one final plea, “But you won't do it alone, not anymore.” Zenchi looks up from the ground, clearly touched by her friend’s kindness and resolve to keep moving forward. She is silent for a moment, then tries to speak, “*sigh* Ithaca…” Happy that she’d finally gotten through to her, the coyote playfully obliges, “Come on now, bring it in, girl!” And like that, Zenchi wipes the sadness from her eyes and takes Ithaca’s hand. She shares a much-needed, warm embrace with her reunited friend. “I...really needed to hear that. Thanks Ithaca. I'm glad to have at least one friend on my side.” Ithaca returns her affection, “Mhm! You're incredible, don't ever think otherwise. We've got this, Chi-Chi.” The two enjoyed one another’s company, finally reunited after countless years apart. They had changed in many ways, be it physically, emotionally, or mentally. But the one thing that had remained unchanged was the ever-important bond they had. At long last, Zenchi had been able to share her beautiful smile with the world, something she thought she’d forgotten by now. Even if the whole world were to turn against her, she would still have that dependable shoulder to lean on. They say in The Lands that a miracle may cost a lifetime to come to fruition, but when it arrives, the sensation is all the sweeter.
