Ten-year-old Ciara Lohan spent most of her time cooped up in her mother's apartments. Ever since she was old enough to remember, her home city had been at war with the foreign power in the north. The enemy never came within miles of the city and her mother said that the lynxes would be beaten by the end of the year. Still, Deirdre was very protective of her and very careful about ever letting her go anywhere by herself. So whenever she had the chance to go out to play, she always had lots of energy to burn off. She dreamed of being a hero herself and making a name for herself, though she was rather more interested in grand adventures than simple fighting.
Ciara's favorite stories were always the ones about bold knights fighting horrible monsters though, in her imagination, it was always the beautiful princess who was the real hero. Well, she was the daughter of the King of Cearnach, even if he didn't claim her, and if anyone had to be rescued it wasn't going to be her!
The Forces of Evil had better watch out. Ciara might just be a pup, but she knows how to use that sword. Momma's been giving her lessons. She won't stand for any pint-sized bullies, either. Nobody gets their pigtails pulled or stuffed into a trash can while Ciara's around.

Isn't she? I love how
sbpawprint draws children, and how she's able to capture their joy and innocence. I really couldn't be happier with this piece!

Aw, thanks. I'm glad you like the little story I wrote to go along with it. I know more about the girl than I could ever write, no matter how many stories I told about her, so it's fun to fill in little gaps like this when I can. It is a really lovely picture, too. It captures the joy and innocence of childhood so very well!
*Grins* Oh, you'd better believe it! Fortunately for all involved, Ciara's a sweet girl at heart but there's nobody (her age) in the city who could beat her. It is adorable, though, isn't it? As I said above, it really does capture the essential feel of childhood imagination and the games kids play. I love her expression and how happy she looks, and the sketch is very nicely done, I agree.
Oh my. I don't know what would happen if Ciara ever met Jarret. That would be the battle of the century!

Hmmm, I detect a familiarity of spirit between our warrior vixens...
