so... :3 i made this.
this is a painting i did using basic ass understanding of the wet-on-wet method of oil paints, after watching ONE Bob Ross tutorial.
you might think its great, i see the shortcomings. but the important thing is that i made it.
:( i... went on a VERY long haitus from doing my own art due to physical abuse. now i have ptsd, and motivation is hard to come by.
i've made a lot in the past years though. a short story about werewolves, i got a book in the works (even wrote some of the latest chapter yesterday) and i made a couple paintings. (next one will be posted in a few minutes.)
i was hesitant to post these for a while, insecure about my own style. but, here it is. i'm biting the bullet on this one and showing my work.
this is Dim Carcosa. i made it during my King in Yellow phase. here we see the ferryman, known as The Palid Mask, on his way to the city of Carcosa, where the King in Rags, aka The Yellow King resides.
allow me to cite the poem this is based on:
Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead;
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.
