her and her sister Wyrda as well two other women like Locasta and Glinda whom both hail from Quadling Country Gilkin Country respectively, the four women studied and trained into becoming magic users as well selected by Great Witch Queen Stellavina who created the Winged Monkeys and who once mastered them through the Golden Cap to become the four witches of the Cardinal Directions, The East, South, North and West, as Glinda chose the South, Locasta the North and Wyrda the East, Carabossa obviously chose the West.

While Locasta and Glinda retained the original purpose and goal of the purpose, Wyrda and Carabossa started slowly going more wicked due to several many factors as Wyrda started ruling the Munchkins with her own law where she dictating and controlling the munchkins of their rights but for Cara (Carabossa's name for short) she starting ruling over Winkieland and enslaving the Winkies as well making an enemy out of the Wizard due to the fact well he's nothing but a humbug as well a fraud and a liar as well being responsible for indirectly disappearance and kidnapping of Ozma by Mombi and such as well believing that Oscar has no right to the throne of the Emerald City.

she does sport pyrokinetic abilities and as well an army comprised wolves, insects, Winkie guards, crows and most of all her Winged Monkeys sometimes called Flying Monkeys by some which said monkeys are controlled by her strongest tool and the most somewhat feared of them all the Golden Cap which makes the Winged Monkeys being the most powerful and useful out of them for situations when needed

she does sport greenish skin like the MGM film but albeit the eyepatch and umbrella from the book

her and Glinda used to be friends as well with Queen Zixi too, as well both women are in on the whole Wizard's real identity being some guy named Oscar Zoroaster Diggs
