The kholo - otherwise known as gnolls - are not known to travel far north. Irrisen, Sano's homeland, is tremendously far north. It is a cold, inhospitable region ruled by the witch-daughters of the great Baba Yaga herself. Clever and charismatic, the far-travelling merchant has clawed his way to a middle class existence - far better than he'd get in his ancestral homeland. In the land of eternal winter, Sano has honed his body and his discipline, hunting amid the snows entirely foreign to him or his kind. His great gnoll cousins - those that look like spotted hyenas - might be the breed better known for their combat prowess, but Sano should not be counted out.

He is a clever, pragmatic warrior who is as adept on the battlefield as he is in the bartering houses. In time, he might be destined to become a truly legendary force commander... though his ambitions are higher.
