An infected person can live indefinitely with CSF shortage and insomnia! Just rather miserably. In some cases I think their life would otherwise improve (besides being sick) because they would be motivated to get a job or clean the house in order to take better care of the beloved horrible creature!
Probably. They always look a little wrong, typically in the face/mask area and body proportions don't stray much from the basic design, but they would absolutely take on Christianity/angelic aesthetics. The smell of holy insence, white feathery wings and robe-like appearance. Wow. I bet that would be a truly terrifying cult... Someone getting one of these and infecting the entire clergy by handing out larvae to take home

Loving the lore for these critters! How do they decide or pick up on which aspects to change to suit their chosen host? Is it just based on anything the host displays positive interest in during the time of being observed, or are they more calculative with it?

It's a mystery! It's canonically not known! They pick a person, and can somehow feel what they're feeling even if they're half a KM apart! How is an enigma. 0:
Yes, it's based on watching the host's life and any time they feel positive feelings, the creature sort of adds it to an inner comparison chart.. The things that cause the biggest happiness spikes, or the most frequent ones are chosen, and intelligence and personal opinion of the parasite are involved. It has to choose carefully, or it can lose everything.
Yeah it does! They're the same creature. I plan on making a base for people to use once I figure out a decent (optional) formula for creating, and have more lore.
