So believe it or not, I actually started working on a ref sheet idea for myself way back in 2022 (hence the random sketches from then, now in my scraps, that have eventually ended up in this)... I abandoned it though and it has sat languishing in my folder of WIP art (along with many others π©) for nearly a year.
Since I've finally got back into drawing, I've really pushed myself to complete this and really glad I have in the end as I think it's come out really well!
I've been a furry for almost longer than I can remember, I'm 24 now and was looking at furry stuff (before I even knew what 'furry' was) since I was a teenager. Never imagined I'd one day be able to draw my own character though, even when I started drawing 5 years ago it seemed like a far fetched dream.
I went a bit overboard with this ref sheet and decided to go for three poses and four additional head busts (not to mention the other additional details) in a very "wide" aspect ratio, which is part of why I kept losing the will to work on it as I'd definitely bit off more than I could chew with this. I must have spent at least 80 hours working on it in total; in between the numerous redraws of the lines and the multiple attempts at doing the colour/fur patterns the time involved really stacked up... if I do commissions I'm going to be very hesitant to accept ref sheet comms π
Anyway, would love to know what you guys think of this 'yote - in the meanwhile I'm gonna get busy finally updating my profile picture for the first time in years π

Awr thank you for the comment! But yeah, I love the natural fur patterns/colours that coyotes can have (especially the white chevrons on the back) so did my best to incorporate it into my design!
And my last two brain cells really came together well for the tail bandana idea π , not only is it cute but it makes the character really easy to identify.
